Weird and Wonderful Vending Machines #2

About 8 months ago, I was on an afternoon walk when I noticed a really bizarre vending machine. It was an antique, rusty old thing, that looked like it had travelled in time. And of all things, it sold batteries! Seeing this actually inspired me to start a series of ‘weird and wonderful vending machines‘ posts. So, I went on the search. But…. as luck would have it, after weeks of searching, the most interesting machines I could find were ones selling ice cream, hot meals, cigarettes and alcohol. Nothing special. Feeling defeated, I gave up the search.

But isn’t it always the case: when you reeeally want to find something, you cannot, then when you stop searching, that’s when it magically appears! Well, I was out and about around Yoyogi Park just the other day when something stopped me dead in my tracks. I couldn’t believe it. I had found another vending machine! Despite saying ‘cigarettes’ on the inside, this one sold jewellery!! I really don’t know who would actually buy a set of earrings from this box. It definitely has seen better days. Nevertheless, it was both weird and wonderful! Perhaps the search is back on!
