Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette

This post is in response to the Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge. This week’s theme is “silhouette“.

***

An interesting theme this week by Cheri from the Daily Post! We’ve been challenged to experiment with light, point of view, and time of day to capture a silhouette.

During autumn, when the air is crisp and the sky is clear, I get to see a very spectacular sight. This photo was taken on my iPhone (hence the poor quality!) the very first time I saw this view. As I walked up the escalator to the platform of my local train station, I looked out to admire the sunset. And boom, right there, straight ahead, was the magnificent Mt Fuji. Roughly 100 kilometres away, and the highest mountain in the area, the silhouette of the cone-shaped mountain stood out like a sore thumb! I was amazed at how close it seemed actually. My breath was taken away!
