Weekly Photo Challenge: Minimalist

This post is in response to the Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge. This week’s theme is “minimalist“.

For this week’s Photo Challenge, I’m going back to my trip home last Christmas. My hometown is near Cairns, so we have the Great Barrier Reef almost at our doorstep. I went for a day cruise to Green Island and had the most amazing time snorkelling with fish and turtles in the clear blue waters. It’s such a beautiful part of the world!

The simplicity of the first photo really describes life in the tropics (and possibly all of Australia) – quiet and relaxed. The second is one of my favourites! I managed to capture this little guy seemingly looking straight at me. It was just me and him; the rest of the world didn’t matter. :-P

I’ll be going back to Australia again for Christmas in a few weeks – my second trip home in almost four years. I cannot wait!!
